Manchester United are back, baby! The Reds are at Old Trafford for the Premier League opener on Sunday against fellow struggling giants Chelsea. The Blues saw the Reds get rid of their Europa League winning manager in favor of possibly misplaced nostalgia, and had to swagger-jack United. Frank Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will both be starting their first full seasons as managers (!) at their former clubs, a sure sign that we are all now very, very old.
Chelsea will be missing quite a few key players, and have several question marks over the strength of their squad after losing players without being able to sign replacements due to a transfer ban. Eden “BBW” Hazard has departed for Real Madrid, and David Luiz bizarrely left for Arsenal in a huff on deadline day. United also failed to replace key departing senior players, but because of negligent, parasitic ownership and incompetent senior management, not because of a ban.
